Artist Bio
In college Jennifer majored in Commercial Illustration with an emphasis on Fashion Illustration. However, life took a very different turn when she married a golf professional. Her husband shortly completed the requirements to become a PGA Golf Professional, and they owned and operated several golf courses in Texas and Kansas for over thirty years. Jennifer used her art talents designing golf course logos and painting sporadically.
In 2005, they sold their last golf course and began spending summers in Creede, Colorado, where they spent several of their summers away from the Texas heat. Jennifer once again began taking art classes - this time in pastels from Janet R. Thompson, PSA. She discovered that she loves pastels, and has been seriously creating art in both pastels and watercolors since 2010. Jennifer is Publicity Chairman/Newsletter Editor for the Chisholm Trail Art Association. Her pastel paintings have won many awards: "Lietzke's Lincoln" won Best of Theme Award at the Cruisin' Nocona Juried Art Show in 2013 and she also won First Place in the pastel category for "Gloried Daze"; "Heart of the Trail" won Best of Show and People's Choice at the 2017 Chisholm Trail Art Association National Juried Art Show and it also won the Patron's Award at the 2018 Breckenridge Fine Arts Center National Juried Art Show and in 2018 her pastel "Texas Tea Party" won Best of Show at the 2nd Annual Chisholm Trail Art Association National Juried Art Show. "Marmalade" won Best of show at the 2023 Art of the Song show in Nocona, TX. She has also been honored with her own one woman show at the Old Post Office Museum & Art Center in Graham, Texas.

Artist's Statement
"Art means different things to everyone, and the way we react to art is dependent upon our individual tastes and preferences. I appreciate many different styles of art. I may not have the inclination or the talent to produce some of it but I can still appreciate the artist’s ability. Because of this, I am very eclectic in the subject matter I choose to paint. To me that is an important part of art - something that strikes me, inspires me, and taps into a part of my soul that says 'this is it' - is what grabs my attention. My hope is that the art I produce touches that place in you - then my interpretation has meaning."
